The Indian film industry is in a state of shock following the sudden demise of legendary actor Nana Patekar. The 75-year-old icon passed away after suffering a severe cardiac arrest in Goa. Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit, who expressed deep sorrow over the news, described the loss as a massive blow to the entertainment world. Speaking on the actor’s legacy, Pandit noted that there were no prior indications of health issues, making the loss even more difficult to process for his friends and colleagues.

Recalling Patekar’s immense influence, Pandit hailed the late star as an institution in himself, highlighting his versatile contributions to theatre, television, and cinema. He emphasized that the industry has lost a rare talent, stating that we may never witness a personality quite like him again. Beyond his celebrated screen presence, Patekar was also recognized for his significant philanthropic efforts, which cemented his status as a pillar within the artistic community.

Details regarding his final moments reveal that Patekar reached out to a friend around 2:30 am to report that he was feeling unwell. Upon his friend’s arrival at his residence at 4 am, he was rushed to Manipal Hospital. Dr. Shekhar Salkar, Chief of the Oncology Department, confirmed that medical teams spent 45 minutes attempting to resuscitate the actor, but unfortunately, he could not be saved.

Nana Patekar enjoyed a storied career that spanned decades, beginning with his 1978 debut in ‘Gaman’. He delivered iconic performances in acclaimed films such as ‘Parinda’, ‘Prahar’, ‘Angaar’, ‘Krantiveer’, ‘Tiranga’, ‘Khamoshi’, and ‘Ab Tak Chhappan’. Even in his later years, he remained active in the industry, recently featuring in ‘Housefull 5’ alongside Akshay Kumar and appearing as a police officer in Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘O’Romeo’ with Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri.
