The Indian film industry is in mourning following the passing of veteran actor Nana Patekar, who died at the age of 75 after suffering a severe cardiac arrest at his Goa residence. BJP MP and actor Ravi Kishan took to social media to share a heartfelt tribute, reflecting on a deep, decades-long friendship that went far beyond the professional sphere. According to Dr. Shekhar Salkar of Manipal Hospital, the actor had reached out to a friend in the early hours of Thursday complaining of discomfort, but despite medical efforts to revive him, he could not be saved.
Kishan recalled that his bond with the legendary artist began during the filming of ‘Prahaar,’ where he frequently visited the sets just to connect with him. Describing Patekar as an “extraordinary” human being, Kishan noted that while he has worked with countless actors throughout his career, his connection with the ‘Natsamrat’ star was uniquely attentive and caring. Their relationship remained strong over the years, with Kishan revealing that they had recently connected over the phone following the release of ‘Laapataa Ladies,’ a film that clearly resonated with the veteran actor.
Beyond the screen, Kishan shared intimate memories of Patekar’s legendary hospitality, specifically recalling a visit to his home in Goa. He fondly remembered how the actor, known for his grounded nature, personally cooked a meal and served it to him with his own hands. “One rarely meets people like that,” Kishan remarked while processing the loss of his close companion. Patekar, a powerhouse of Hindi and Marathi cinema, leaves behind an incredible legacy, having starred in iconic films like ‘Parinda,’ ‘Krantiveer,’ and ‘Ab Tak Chhappan,’ with recent appearances in ‘Housefull 5’ and various other projects.
