It has been fifteen years since the cricketing world and the Pataudi family lost the legendary Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, and his daughter, Soha Ali Khan, is keeping his memory alive with a touching tribute. Taking to social media on the anniversary of his passing, the actress shared an emotional reflection on her father, famously known as Tiger Pataudi. She wrote, “My Abba. 15 years without you. Sometimes I wonder if I’m imagining my memories of you. But perhaps that is what memory is — love, recreating what it cannot bear to lose.”
Soha accompanied her heartfelt message with a series of photographs showing her paying homage to her father alongside her daughter, Inaaya. In the images, the two are seen seated before a framed photograph of the late icon, surrounded by candles and flowers. The moment was made even more poignant by a handwritten letter from little Inaaya, who wrote to her grandfather, “I hope you have a lovely death anniversary in heaven. I hope I can someday see your spirit in real life. I am grateful to be a part of your family and I must complement you of your daughter, as well as your cricket skills.”
Saba Pataudi also joined in the remembrance, sharing her own tribute to their father. “15 years…. and I miss you still. It’s like a dream, as I sense you’re here. And yet you’re not. Love you always, My Abba,” she posted. The legendary cricketer, who famously served as the Indian team’s youngest captain at just 21, passed away on September 22, 2011, at the age of 70 following a battle with a severe lung infection. A cricketing stalwart and husband to veteran actress Sharmila Tagore, Tiger Pataudi remains an enduring figure for his children, Saif, Saba, and Soha, who continue to hold his legacy close to their hearts.
