Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has weighed in on the massive buzz surrounding the Nitesh Tiwari-directed epic ‘Ramayana’. While the film has grabbed headlines for its staggering production budget and high-end visual effects, Salman believes the conversation needs a shift. Speaking at the trailer launch of his upcoming project ‘Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace’, the actor insisted that the focus should remain strictly on the narrative and the iconic figures of the epic. “Ramayana ka charcha Ramayana pe hona chahiye, na ki VFX and cost of production par,” he remarked, adding that the discourse should be centered on the essence of Ram, Ravana, and Sita rather than financial figures.
Salman also drew a thematic parallel between the virtues of Lord Ram and his own protagonist in ‘Maatrubhumi’. He noted that Lord Ram’s legacy as a dedicated son, husband, father, and warrior serves as an inspiration for the central character in his upcoming war drama. Reflecting on his own connection to the epic, the actor fondly recalled watching Ramanand Sagar’s iconic ‘Ramayan’ series, which remains a benchmark for many.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the star-studded ‘Ramayana: Part 1’ features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravana, alongside a cast including Sunny Deol, Ravie Dubey, and Anupam Kher. Meanwhile, Salman Khan is gearing up for his own release, ‘Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace’. Originally titled ‘Battle of Galwan’, the film is based on the 2020 Galwan Valley clash and stars Chitrangada Singh alongside Salman. After facing delays due to an injury on set, the film is now set to hit screens on December 4, bringing its narrative of valor to the big screen.
