The Bandish Bandits star Shreyaa Chaudhry is officially stepping into the spotlight alongside Ayushmann Khurrana for the upcoming project Mupapa. While the makers have kept the details surrounding her character under wraps for now, the casting has certainly generated buzz. The film is being helmed by director Sameer Saxena and serves as a major milestone, marking the first theatrical collaboration between Yash Raj Films, headed by CEO Akshaye Widhani, and Posham Pa Pictures, the production house co-founded by Saxena, Biswapati Sarkar, Saurabh Khanna, and Amit Golani. Fans will have to wait a little while longer to see the duo on screen, as the film is currently slated for a theatrical release on February 19, 2027.
In the meantime, Ayushmann Khurrana is keeping himself occupied with his upcoming release, Udta Teer, which co-stars Sara Ali Khan. The film, which marks the directorial debut of Akash A Kaushik, recently saw a change in its release schedule and is now set to hit cinemas on October 23. The project boasts an impressive ensemble cast including Rahul Bose, Ram Kapoor, the late Mukul Dev, Raghubir Yadav, Brijendra Kala, and Supriya Pilgaonkar, among others.
Speaking on his role in Udta Teer, Ayushmann shared that he is returning to his signature style of championing original and distinct stories. He describes the film as a genre-defying patriotic comedy where he plays a Pakistani spy who suffers from memory loss. The twist, according to the actor, is that while he retains his sense of patriotism, he forgets his allegiance and ends up supporting India. Produced by the powerhouse team of Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Guneet Monga Kapoor, and Achin Jain, the movie is a high-profile collaboration between Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment.
