The King of Bollywood is back to set the screen on fire, and he is doing it with a vengeance. Just days before his 61st birthday, Shah Rukh Khan surprised fans by dropping a high-octane poster for his highly anticipated film, King. The visual shows a rugged SRK walking out of a tunnel amidst towering flames, sporting an unbuttoned dark shirt that reveals a bloodied chest. Keeping the mystery alive, the superstar captioned the post with a cryptic, “Aaj phir yaad aaya…Qaatil nahi… Aashiq hoon…#KING,” leaving fans speculating about the intensity of his character.
Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film marks a reunion for the duo following their massive success with Pathaan. King is slated for a grand Christmas release on December 24, 2026. While the poster promises an action-packed spectacle, SRK has been deeply involved in the backend process. During a recent interactive session on X, the actor shared that he has been spending late nights with the post-production and visual effects team at Red Chillies, joking that he might soon be banned from the office for his constant, hands-on supervision.
Fans eager for the film’s soundtrack will have to wait just a little longer, as SRK confirmed that Arijit Singh is currently putting the finishing touches on the music. Addressing the competitive December release window, the actor remained characteristically witty, dismissing concerns about box office pressure by calling his film the “tasty tikki” in the middle of the sandwich. Alongside Shah Rukh, the film features a star-studded ensemble including Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Deepika Padukone, with reports suggesting special appearances by Rani Mukerji and Kareena Kapoor Khan.
