Filmmaker Omung Kumar, the creative force behind acclaimed biopics like Mary Kom and Sarabjit, is returning to the big screen with his latest directorial venture, Silaa. The makers officially announced that the film is set for a theatrical release on February 5, 2027. To celebrate the announcement, the team also unveiled a brand new poster that has already started generating buzz among fans of the lead star, Harshvardhan Rane.
Harshvardhan Rane takes on the lead role of Virat, starring alongside Sadia Khateeb. Reflecting on the demanding nature of the project, Rane described the journey as both challenging and exciting. He explained that his character is a man driven by love who finds himself in a desperate fight for survival when circumstances take a dark turn. According to Rane, the film’s blend of high-octane action, unique locations, and emotional intensity pushed him to his limits, both physically and mentally, as he explores how far a person will go for the one they love.
Director Omung Kumar promises a cinematic experience that balances romance, mystery, and adventure. He emphasized that while the film aims to be visually striking and expansive in scale, the emotional core remains the primary focus. Kumar praised his leads, noting that Rane brings a raw physicality to the role of Virat, while Khateeb adds significant depth to the character of Silaa. The film is presented by Z Studios and is a production of Blue Lotus Pictures and Stark Entertainment. It is produced by a large team including Zee Studios, Omung Kumar, Himanshu Tiwari, Ajay Singh, Dhananjay Singh, and Vanita Garud Kumar, with Hemant Tiwari serving as co-producer.
