Anil Kapoor recently turned emotional while reflecting on his deep bond with the late actor-filmmaker Satish Kaushik during an appearance on his show, India Ke Top 1%. The moment was sparked by a contestant named Gagan, whose striking resemblance to Kaushik caught the veteran actor’s attention. Gagan shared a personal anecdote about meeting the late legend on the sets of the show Sumit Sambhal Lega in Delhi, which prompted Kapoor to dive into a treasure trove of cherished memories.
Opening up about their connection, Kapoor admitted that the bond they shared defied professional boundaries. He fondly recalled how they often joked about being like the characters in the film Twins, with Kapoor even giving Kaushik the nickname ‘Danny DeVito’. The actor shared, “Agar mera koi judwa bhai ban sakta hai, to wo sirf Satish tha, kyunki usko mere baare mein har cheez pata thi: mera gussa, meri khushi, har cheez.” According to Kapoor, Kaushik knew him better than anyone else, and their friendship was built on an unspoken understanding that lasted for decades.
The conversation took a heartwarming and nostalgic turn when Kapoor and Gagan recreated one of Kaushik’s most iconic dialogues: “Mera naam hai Calendra, main chala kitchen ke andar!” Moved by the performance, Kapoor told the contestant that he had completely won his heart. In a lighthearted moment, he jokingly appealed to the audience to consider casting them as twin brothers if a producer were ever interested in making a film inspired by the classic movie Twins.
This tribute highlighted not just the professional brilliance of Satish Kaushik, but the warmth and humor he brought into Kapoor’s life. Fans can catch these emotional highlights and more on India Ke Top 1% – The Anil Kapoor Show, which airs every Saturday and Sunday at 8 PM on Star Plus and is available for streaming on JioHotstar.
