Mumbai transformed into a sea of devotion this Friday as the city marked the conclusion of the 10-day Ganeshotsav festival. Anant Chaturdashi saw Bollywood stars and public figures stepping out to offer their final prayers before the immersion rituals. Among those spotted paying their respects were actor Juhi Chawla, Donal Bisht, Iulia Vantur, and Shiv Sena spokesperson Shaina NC, all of whom joined the sea of devotees bidding farewell to the beloved deity.
The festival, which commenced on September 14, reached its emotional peak as citizens across the country prepared for the visarjan. While many households and mandals completed their immersions throughout the day, the iconic Lalbaugcha Raja procession remained the center of attraction. Actor Jackie Shroff was seen amidst the massive crowd near Girgaon Chowpatty, soaking in the festive spirit while actively participating in the procession. Addressing the media, the veteran actor kept it real as always, urging citizens to celebrate responsibly and emphasizing the importance of keeping the city clean after the festivities conclude.
The Lalbaugcha Raja procession continues its long journey from the Lalbaug Market, winding through major landmarks including Bharatmata Cinema and the Lalbaug Police Chowky. The grand idol is currently en route to the Mumbai Municipal Corporation reception desk at Chowpatty, with the final immersion scheduled for tomorrow morning. Until the ritual is complete, the streets of Mumbai remain filled with prayers, flowers, and the spirit of devotion that defines this annual celebration.
