Bigg Boss 7 winner Gauahar Khan has publicly called out Panchayat actor Aasif Khan following his controversial comments regarding masculinity and moustaches on the latest season of Bigg Boss. During a task on the show, Aasif claimed that his moustache is a vital part of his Rajasthani identity and controversially stated that he does not consider men without moustaches to be “real men.”
Taking to her Instagram stories, an unimpressed Gauahar questioned why a successful actor would choose to display such regressive thinking on a national platform. She expressed her disappointment, noting that while Aasif is a talented performer, his behavior during the show—particularly his enjoyment while a contestant was dissing Uditi—felt deeply problematic. Gauahar emphasized that a man’s true identity should be defined by his character and the way he treats others, rather than his physical appearance.
Addressing Aasif’s specific claim about moustaches being the hallmark of a man, Gauahar did not hold back. She pointed out the irony of his statement, noting that in Islam, it is Sunnah for Muslim men not to have a moustache, and questioned if the actor had overlooked his own cultural and religious context. She reiterated that narrow-mindedness is never a good look, adding that a person’s worth is measured by their broad-mindedness and behavior.
