The excitement for Rajinikanth’s latest cinematic outing, Jailer 2, reached a fever pitch in Chennai this Thursday as Dhanush was spotted arriving at the iconic Rohini Theatre. The actor, who was married to Rajinikanth’s daughter Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth before the couple parted ways in 2024, made a quick entrance into the venue. Fans and media personnel were thrilled to catch a glimpse of the star, who graciously waved at the paparazzi before heading inside to catch the show.
Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Sun Pictures, Jailer 2 arrives with massive expectations following the monumental success of its predecessor. The film sees Rajinikanth reprising his role as Muthuvel Pandian, whose attempt at a quiet life is once again shattered by the ghosts of his violent past. The star-studded project features an impressive ensemble cast, including Vidya Balan, Mithun Chakraborty, Jackie Shroff, and Mohanlal, all set to the high-octane musical score composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
The buzz surrounding the release has turned into a global celebration. Dedicated fans have flocked to Chennai from as far as Sydney and Malaysia, with many seen dancing and cheering outside the theatres to mark the occasion. One fan, Shantini, who traveled from Australia specifically for the screening, shared that the anticipation is sky-high, noting that supporters are eager to see if the sequel can surpass the high bar set by the first film. As the trailer promised, the return of Muthuvel Pandian has clearly struck a chord, drawing crowds from across the globe to celebrate the superstar’s latest chapter.
