Music maestro Devi Sri Prasad, fondly known as DSP, is officially stepping in front of the camera for his feature film acting debut. The highly anticipated project titled Yellamma is officially slated for a worldwide theatrical release on March 5, 2027. The production team shared the exciting news this Wednesday, October 21, 2026, marking the festive occasion of Dussehra to reveal the release date to fans.
The film is being helmed by director Venu Yeldandi, who previously earned critical acclaim for the hit movie Balagam. Produced by Shirish under the prestigious Sri Venkateswara Creations banner and presented by Dil Raju, the project is already gaining significant momentum. DSP will be stepping into the shoes of the lead character named Parshi, a role that was recently teased in an intriguing first-look poster. Shooting for the film is currently moving along at a brisk pace as the team works toward the 2027 deadline.
Yellamma is set to be a massive pan-Indian affair, with plans to release the film simultaneously in five languages including Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada. In a classic DSP move, the star is not just acting but also composing the film’s soundtrack, with T-Series reportedly securing the music rights. While the makers have yet to make an official announcement regarding the female lead, industry buzz suggests that Ananthika Sanilkumar is the frontrunner for the role. DSP took to X to share his excitement, expressing his gratitude to Goddess Yellamma and wishing his fans a happy Dussehra.
