Veteran actor Biswajit Chatterjee recently took a trip down memory lane, sharing an endearing story about his first encounter with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. The meeting took place on the sets of the hit film Main Hoon Na at Film City. Biswajit revealed that his presence on the set was courtesy of director Farah Khan, whose father, the late Kamran Khan, was a longtime friend and former co-star of the veteran actor.
During his visit, Farah Khan made sure to facilitate an introduction between the legendary actor and her lead star. Biswajit recalled sitting on the set waiting for the actor to arrive, and the moment Shah Rukh walked in, his reaction was one of pure excitement. According to the veteran, the superstar immediately addressed him with immense respect, calling him ‘Bishwajit Dada’ and showing genuine enthusiasm at meeting a screen icon.
What made the moment truly special were the first words Shah Rukh shared with him. The King of Bollywood revealed that his late mother was a massive fan of Biswajit’s work. Shah Rukh shared a lighthearted childhood memory, telling the veteran, ‘My mom used to tell me that you are more beautiful than me. So I used to fight with my mom, saying no, I am more beautiful!’ It was a touching tribute from one generation of cinema to another.
Biswajit Chatterjee boasts an illustrious career spanning nearly 150 films across both Bengali and Hindi cinema. Rising to fame in the 1960s with his Hindi debut Bees Saal Baad, he went on to star in classics like April Fool, Yeh Raat Phir Na Aayegi, and Ishq Par Zor Nahin. His legacy remains deeply respected, and this sweet interaction with Shah Rukh Khan serves as a perfect reminder of the deep-rooted admiration that exists among the industry’s biggest stars.
