Veteran actor Biswajit Chatterjee is taking fans on a nostalgic trip down memory lane, offering a rare glimpse into the golden era of Indian cinema. In a recent conversation, the legendary star opened up about the professional landscape of his time, describing the camaraderie among actors as a form of healthy competition. While the industry was fiercely competitive, Chatterjee noted that there was a genuine sense of mutual respect, with actors pushing each other to deliver better performances while openly appreciating their peers’ craft.
The actor shared a particularly charming anecdote from his days shooting at Filmistan Studios, back when vanity vans were non-existent and infrastructure was far simpler. During one hectic production schedule, all available makeup rooms had been occupied by the lead actresses. Left without a private space, Jeetendra invited Chatterjee to set up in a large hall. Before long, they were joined by Dharmendra and Vinod Khanna. The quartet ended up sharing the same space, turning a logistical challenge into a memorable bonding session between four of the industry’s biggest heartthrobs.
Reflecting on those humble beginnings, Chatterjee emphasized how vastly different the working environment was compared to the modern era.
