Veteran actor Anupam Kher has paid a heartfelt tribute to the late Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Ashok Singhal on the occasion of his birth centenary. Taking to Instagram, Kher reflected on Singhal’s monumental contribution to the nation, culture, and the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi movement. The actor expressed his deep respect for the leader, noting that Singhal dedicated his entire life to the service of religion and the preservation of Indian heritage.
Kher is set to portray the iconic leader in the upcoming film ‘Shri Rambhoomi’. Having wrapped up the shoot in August after beginning production in July, the actor shared that stepping into the shoes of such a significant historical figure has been a profound experience. Kher emphasized that he has put his heart into understanding Singhal’s personality to bring an authentic performance to the screen, stating, “It is an honour for me to portray the role of Ashok Singhal ji. I hope I have been able to do justice to him.”
The film’s production journey began with a special visit to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya, where Kher shared glimpses of his preparation. As anticipation for the film grows, the veteran actor has urged audiences to watch the project once it hits the big screen. The tribute comes alongside a series of nationwide commemorations, including a grand ceremony at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, where Union Home Minister Amit Shah joined leaders and followers to honor Singhal’s far-sighted vision and his pivotal role in the spiritual awakening of society.
