Alia Bhatt is beaming with pride as her husband Ranbir Kapoor’s highly anticipated film, Ramayana, officially arrives in theatres. Taking to social media, the actress shared a heartfelt note alongside adorable behind-the-scenes glimpses of their daughter, Raha, visiting her father on set. In the sweet photos, Ranbir is seen doting on little Raha, proving he managed to balance his intense preparation for the role with his duties as a father. Alia expressed her admiration for the project, noting that while some stories are larger than life, Ramayana stands in a league of its own. She praised Ranbir for pouring his heart and soul into the film, acknowledging the collective effort of the entire team behind the cinematic experience.

The film has been met with a wave of acclaim from industry insiders, with filmmaker Karan Johar leading the chorus of praise. Describing the adaptation as a “miracle,” Johar lauded director Nitesh Tiwari and producer Namit Malhotra for their audacity and conviction in bringing such a timeless epic to life. He specifically highlighted Ranbir’s performance, calling his portrayal of Lord Ram “meditative” and noting that the actor’s eyes did the heavy lifting in what he considers to be Ranbir’s most challenging role to date.

Beyond the lead, the star-studded cast also received a massive shoutout from Johar. He hailed Sai Pallavi as “sublime” in her role as Sita, while describing Yash’s performance as Ravan as nothing short of mesmerizing. Ravi Dubey’s portrayal of Lakshman also earned high marks for its display of loyalty and heart. With Ramayana: Part 1 now playing in cinemas worldwide, the momentum is already building for the second installment, which is slated for a Diwali 2027 release.
