Sonu Sood shares a witty take on the iPhone 18 launch craze

As Apple fans across India flocked to stores on Friday for the official launch of the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, Bollywood’s own humanitarian Sonu Sood decided to inject some reality into the hype.

As Apple fans across India flocked to stores on Friday for the official launch of the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, Bollywood’s own humanitarian Sonu Sood decided to inject some reality into the hype. Taking to social media, the actor shared a viral image of customers waiting in long queues to get their hands on the latest tech. With his signature wit, Sood captioned the post, “New phone, new EMI… same old bills! Maybe it’s time we queue up to make a difference, not just upgrade our phones. The real upgrade is a better society.”

The launch day saw plenty of star power, with Vicky Kaushal spotted at the Apple BKC store in Mumbai. The ‘Raazi’ actor was seen exploring the new device, snapping a few selfies, and greeting the paparazzi with a smile. For many die-hard fans, the launch has become a full-blown event; one dedicated customer from Bengaluru even arrived at the store at 5 am, noting that he treats the annual iPhone release like a festival.

The new iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, which hit shelves on September 18, arrive in four distinct finishes—black, silver, glacier, and a new burgundy. Under the hood, these premium devices are powered by the A20 Pro chip and feature a 48MP Fusion Main camera with enhanced controls and a new vapour chamber for better performance. Prices for the Pro model start at Rs 1,64,900, while the Pro Max starts at Rs 1,79,900, with high-end storage variants reaching up to Rs 3,29,900.
