It was a nostalgic moment in Los Angeles this week as Ranbir Kapoor crossed paths with his former Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani co-star, Poorna Jagannathan. The actress, who made a memorable cameo as a TV show host in the 2013 blockbuster, attended the world premiere of the highly anticipated project, Ramayana: Rise of a Legend. The pair shared a warm reunion, marking a sweet full-circle moment for fans of the iconic film that also starred Deepika Padukone.
Poorna was clearly impressed by what she saw on screen, taking to Instagram to share behind-the-scenes glimpses from the premiere. She didn’t hold back in her praise for the leading man, describing his portrayal of Lord Rama as nothing short of magnetic. In her post, she raved about the cinematic scale of the project, stating, “Ramayana is a cinematic feat. Make sure you see it in 3D. And RK is magnetic in this, and was born to play this role and wear this crown.”
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the ambitious two-part epic features a powerhouse ensemble cast. Alongside Ranbir Kapoor, the film stars Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman. The project is being produced by Prime Focus Studios in collaboration with the eight-time Oscar-winning DNEG and Yash’s own Monster Mind Creations.
Fans have a bit of a wait ahead of them, as the first installment of this grand cinematic journey is scheduled for a worldwide release on November 5, 2026. The second part of the epic saga is currently slated to hit theaters during the Diwali season in 2027.
