Bollywood producer and actor Raajveer Sharma is spearheading a major cinematic bridge between India and Russia. Following a recent trip to Moscow, where he met with Indian Embassy officials and local tourism authorities, Sharma is working to tap into Russia’s vast, unexplored potential for filmmakers. With the backing of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Vladimir Putin, the initiative aims to strengthen cultural ties by leveraging the Russian government’s new incentives, which provide international filmmakers with seamless support for shooting in Moscow and beyond.
During his visit, Sharma held extensive discussions with key figures, including Catherine Trofimova from the Moscow Tourism division, to streamline the process for future film projects. His efforts extended to the Kabardino-Balkarian State University in Nalchik, where he sat down with the institution’s top brass, including Head Dean Asiyat Zhurtova, Director Amir Kulov Mamilovich, and actress-singer Lana Kulova. Alongside Sagar Sharma, the head of the Indo-Russian Cinema Initiative, these meetings laid the groundwork for upcoming collaborative ventures that seek to integrate Russian cinematic aesthetics with Indian storytelling.
The most ambitious part of this partnership is the launch of Auditions India Russia, a joint venture between Filmgiants and Auditions India. This platform is designed to scout international talent, offering young Russian artists a direct gateway into the Indian entertainment industry. Whether it is acting, singing, dancing, modeling, or music, the initiative aims to foster a creative exchange through a series of auditions, awards ceremonies, and cultural events. By connecting students and professionals from both nations, the project hopes to create a vibrant ecosystem for the next generation of creative talent.
