The suspense thriller franchise that keeps the nation on the edge of its seats is back, and Bollywood’s bigwigs are already taking note. Filmmaker Karan Johar recently took to his Instagram stories to shower praise on the latest installment, ‘Drishyam 3’. Sharing the film’s official poster, an impressed Johar lauded the production, calling it “Mazedaar” and “Lajawaab.” He specifically highlighted the powerhouse performances of Ajay Devgn and Jaideep Ahlawat, while also giving a massive shoutout to director Abhishek Pathak for helming such a brilliant project.

Released in theatres on October 2, ‘Drishyam 3: The Conclusion’ marks the return of the iconic Vijay Salgaonkar. The narrative picks up years after the events of the previous films, throwing the Salgaonkar family into the middle of a fresh, high-stakes investigation that puts their life under immense pressure once again. Along with Devgn, the film sees Tabu reprising her role as Meera Deshmukh, with Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav, and Kamlesh Sawant returning to their characters. The ensemble is further bolstered by Jaideep Ahlawat as SP Rajveer Tomar and Prakash Raj as lawyer Indrajith Shetty.

The film has hit the ground running at the box office, raking in a staggering Rs 62 crore on its opening day in India. According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, this impressive debut makes it the fourth-highest opener for films crossing the Rs 50 crore mark on Day 1, trailing only behind ‘Dhurandhar 2’, ‘Pushpa 2’ (Hindi), and ‘Jawan’. Written by Abhishek Pathak, Aamil Keeyan Khan, and Parveez Shaikh, the film continues its strong momentum as audiences flock to witness the conclusion of one of Indian cinema’s most celebrated cat-and-mouse sagas.
