Hollywood powerhouse Jennifer Lawrence is officially heading into the world of science fiction. The Academy Award-winning actress has signed on to star in ‘The Flood,’ the highly anticipated new thriller from director Zach Cregger. While the plot remains shrouded in mystery and the rest of the cast is yet to be announced, the project has already locked in a release date of August 11, 2028. Amblin Entertainment is set to produce the film, with Roy Lee and Miri Yoon of Vertigo Entertainment joining the production team.
This collaboration marks a significant reunion for Cregger, who is teaming up with Warner Bros. once again following his work on the 2025 horror mystery ‘Weapons.’ Cregger shot to fame after his 2022 breakout hit ‘Barbarian,’ which became a massive critical and commercial success, raking in 270 million USD globally on a modest 40 million USD budget.
