The wait is finally over for fans of India’s most beloved comedy franchise. Director Rohit Shetty has officially announced that the fifth installment of the Golmaal series, Golmaal 5, is set to hit the silver screen on January 8, 2027. Taking to social media to share the exciting news, the filmmaker dropped a teaser that promises the same high-octane madness fans have come to expect, captioning the update with a simple, high-energy note: “Laughter, fun, joy, happiness and family… bas, nothing else.”
The upcoming film brings together an impressive ensemble cast, reuniting Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Kunal Kemmu, Shreyas Talpade, and Tusshar Kapoor. Notably, the film also marks the return of Sharman Joshi to the franchise, who was part of the original 2006 blockbuster. Adding to the star power, Rohit Shetty previously revealed in March that Akshay Kumar will also be joining the mayhem, making this one of the most anticipated multi-starrers in recent Bollywood history.
This release will mark the gang’s grand return to theaters nearly a decade after the massive success of the fourth installment, Golmaal Again, which arrived in 2017. While the makers have been tight-lipped about the specific plot points of the new chapter, the production team has promised that 2027 will kick off with a brand new dose of laughter and signature Golmaal chaos.
