Ajay Devgn is back to prove that Vijay Salgaonkar is truly unstoppable. The highly anticipated Drishyam 3: The Conclusion has taken the box office by storm, raking in a massive Rs 62 crore on its opening day in India. While it narrowly missed the Rs 100 crore milestone, the film’s strong performance has officially cemented its place in the record books as the fourth-biggest opening for a film in the country.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh confirmed the impressive figures, placing the thriller in an elite club of top-tier openers. Drishyam 3 now sits comfortably behind Dhurandhar 2, which leads the pack with Rs 140 crore, followed by Pushpa 2 in Hindi with Rs 72 crore, and the blockbuster Jawan with Rs 65.50 crore. By surpassing the Rs 50 crore mark, the film has firmly secured its spot among the top 10 highest-earning Day 1 releases in Indian cinema history.
The film marks the return of the iconic cat-and-mouse game that has kept audiences on the edge of their seats for years. Picking up years after Vijay Salgaonkar last outsmarted the law, the narrative thrusts his family back into the crosshairs of a fresh, high-stakes investigation. Alongside Ajay Devgn, the powerhouse cast features Tabu reprising her role as Meera Deshmukh, with Shriya Saran, Jaideep Ahlawat, Prakash Raj, Rajat Kapoor, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav, and Kamlesh Sawant rounding out the ensemble. Directed by Abhishek Pathak, who also co-wrote the script with Aamil Keeyan Khan and Parveez Shaikh, the film hit theatres on October 2 and is already being hailed as a major cinematic event.
