Producer Maansi Guptey is officially stepping into the Hindi feature film space with her latest project, Rani Drycleanerss. The upcoming social drama features Panchayat fame Ashok Pathak in the lead role, promising a character-driven story that feels both rooted and authentic. Produced under the banners of Yantra Pictures and Globots Entertainment, the film is a collaborative effort between Guptey, Anish Kumar, and Dushyant Sand. Directed by Sagar Kumar Sharma, the entire movie was filmed in a start-to-finish schedule across the scenic landscapes of Uttarakhand.
While the team is keeping the finer plot details under wraps, the title itself has already sparked curiosity. “Rani Drycleanerss is a very special film for me,” says Guptey. “The title has a certain simplicity and curiosity to it, and as the audience discovers the world of the film, I believe they will understand why it felt like the perfect title for our story.” Joining Pathak on screen is Monica Chaudhary, known for her performances in Apharan and Dark 7 White, who plays a pivotal role in the narrative.
The film is also set to pack a punch musically, featuring a stellar lineup of playback singers including Rekha Bhardwaj, Javed Ali, Nakash Aziz, and Kailash Kher. This project marks a significant milestone for Maansi Guptey, who has previously produced the Marathi drama Colorphool, the Punjabi film Jugni Yaaran Di, and short films like Painful Pride and Main Tumhara. With Rani Drycleanerss currently in the post-production phase, fans can expect the makers to drop more information regarding the theatrical release, which is slated for later this year.
