As the festive spirit of Diwali 2026 takes over Mumbai, several prominent names from the Indian film industry have stepped forward to share their warmth and greetings with fans across the nation. The festival, which marks a time for reflection and celebration, saw veteran actor Annu Kapoor leading the sentiment with a prayer for collective prosperity. Expressing his wishes, Kapoor shared, “Deepawali ke pawan avsar par aap sabhi ko Deepawali ki shubhechha. My only prayer is that prosperity enters your home and that you have the wisdom and good judgement to use that wealth wisely.”

Renowned singer Anup Jalota brought a touch of traditional joy to the celebrations, emphasizing the importance of happiness and indulgence during the festive period. Jalota shared his excitement for the rituals, noting, “Deepawali hum log khoob aanand se manate hain. Patakhe bhi bajate hain, phuljhadiyan chalate hain, aur nayi nayi meethaiyan banti hain. This day is meant to be celebrated with joy, as the happiness you embrace today will set the tone for the rest of your year.”

Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit chose to use the occasion to honor the unsung heroes of the nation. Sending a special message to India’s security forces, he expressed deep gratitude for their dedication and sacrifice. “I would especially like to extend my warmest Diwali wishes to our security forces. I want to thank them for the sacrifices they make while guarding our borders and protecting our country so that we can celebrate all these festivals in peace,” Pandit stated.

The celebrations in Mumbai are in full swing as the city marks the five-day festival. Following Dhanteras on November 6 and Choti Diwali on November 7, the festivities continue with Lakshmi Puja on November 8, Govardhan Puja on November 9, and conclude with Bhai Dooj on November 10.
