Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has paid a deeply moving tribute to the late Nana Patekar, honoring their long-standing professional bond and personal friendship. Taking to social media, Bachchan shared a series of nostalgic throwback videos capturing the essence of their relationship. The compilation includes rare footage from the muhurat ceremony of their 1999 film Kohram, heartwarming clips of Patekar singing the classic track Main Zindagi Ka Saath Nibhata Chala, and memorable moments from his guest appearances on Kaun Banega Crorepati.
Beyond the screen, the veteran actor bared his soul on his personal blog, admitting he was left absolutely speechless by the loss. Sharing the intimacy of their bond, he revealed that the two actors were in constant communication through daily messages. Reflecting on the sudden silence, he wrote, “Stabdh! Har doosre din unka aur hamara contact message ke zariye rehta tha. Aaj unka message nahi aaya!” (Speechless! We were in touch through messages every other day. Today, his message didn’t come!)
During a recent episode of KBC season 16, Bachchan further honored Patekar by addressing the audience about his dear friend’s unmatched screen presence and unwavering commitment to humanitarian work. He praised the late star’s honesty and courage, noting that while people may leave our lives, their voices and lessons remain deeply embedded within us. Nana Patekar, whose passing has left a massive void in Indian cinema, was laid to rest with full state honors at his farmhouse in Pune on Thursday night.
